Guided by the Grain:
Foundations

Through hands-on woodworking and supportive mentoring, Foundations helps young people build practical skills, confidence, self-awareness, and greater hope for their future.

About Foundations

Skills for today.
Hope for what comes next.

Guided by the Grain: Foundations brings hands-on woodworking and supportive mentoring to young people through partnerships with youth-serving organizations.

Our current work focuses on justice-involved youth. Participants practice woodworking, problem-solving, communication, and planning while building relationships with supportive adult mentors.

These experiences help young people recognize their strengths, develop skills they can carry forward, and imagine more possibilities for their future.
